Hi, I’m Kate (Tynan….if you want to Facebook or Insta-stalk me! :-)) and I run Little Button Bakery. I live in Marple with my husband, two children, two sausage dogs and four chickens. I set up Little Button Bakery in 2013 after starting a family and not wishing to go back to my previous role as a primary school teacher.
I wanted a career that would not only allow me to be creative, but that would also fit around my children and that I would be able to build up slowly until they were at school full time which they now are. Little Button Bakery now has a firmly established place in the North West wedding market and over the years I have won numerous awards for my wedding cakes. My work has also featured in many high profile wedding magazines and wedding blogs. All of which fills me with great pride as I absolutely love what I do. It is fantastic to be recognised for my work in such a fast paced and highly competitive industry.
I am exceptionally passionate about wedding cakes and strive for excellence and perfection in everything I do. I aim to make the whole process of booking and choosing a wedding cake as straightforward and enjoyable as possible - you will be in safe hands! I do run the business completely single handed; from designing and making cakes, to delivering orders, answering emails and managing social media so when you book Little Button Bakery for your cake, it will be me and only me you deal with which I hope adds the' ‘personal touch’.
My favourite cakes to make are those that are modern and a little ‘outside the box’. I love hexagon shaped tiers, tall tiers, geometric patterns, metallic leaf and adding a splash of colour. Wedding cakes don’t have to be white! I also really enjoy using and arranging flowers on my cakes either fresh or made from sugar.

Little Button Bakery is based in Marple, Cheshire but we work throughout the North West. We specialise in making luxury bespoke wedding cakes that are not only perfect to look at but taste delicious too. All of our cakes are baked fresh from scratch using only the finest ingredients - free range eggs, real butter, Madagascan vanilla, Belgian chocolate.......the list goes on.
Always striving to improve our skills and learn new techniques, so far we have trained with Slattery, Zoe Clark Cakes, Medici Macarons, The Designer Cake Company, Cotton & Crumbs, Poppy Pickering and Emily Hankins Cakes.
We are fully insured, food hygiene level 2 qualified and have a 5 star food hygiene rating from our local authority.
Our wedding cakes have appeared many times in Wedding Cakes Magazine. Our work has also been included in You & your Wedding Magazine, Perfect Wedding Magazine and Cakes & Sugarcraft Magazine. We have been featured on blogs from Rock N Roll Bride, Festival Brides, Love My Dress, Rock My Wedding, Brides Up North, B.Loved Blog, Whimsical Wonderland Weddings, The English Wedding Blog, French Wedding Style and Bride & Tonic.
